Abstract

The 12th International Flora Malesiana Symposium & International Nature-Based Solutions Conference (NBCS) invites researchers, policymakers, conservationists, and practitioners to submit abstracts for presentation at this landmark event, taking place in Manokwari, West Papua, from February 9-14, 2026.

This conference provides a platform for experts to share cutting-edge research, innovative conservation strategies, and policy solutions that integrate biodiversity conservation with sustainable development and climate resilience.

We welcome abstract submissions related to the following themes:

A. FLORA MALESIANA

  • Plant Ecology and Diversity in Malesian Region
  • Plant Systematics and Evolution
  • Ethnobotany and Economic Botany
  • Plant Conservation, Local Flora and Citizen Science
  • Major Group of Vascular Plant

B. NATURE-BASED CLIMATE SOLUTION

  • Nature-based Solution – Challenges & Oportunities
  • Tropical Forests -NbS related research and practices in tropical forests (from highland to lowland tropical rainforests).
  • Peatlands – NbS research on management, restoration and conservation of peatlands.
  • Mangroves & Seagrass- Climate, carbon and sustainable management of mangrove and seagrass ecosystems.
  • Coral Reefs- Research and management practices for climate resilience and restoration of coral reefs. 

  • NBS and communities – Explore the alliance of NbS and communities through the lens of Livelihoods, Access to Resources and Benefit Sharing, and food security (particularly in the context of climate resilience).

C. OTHER THEME

Participants who would like to submit different abstract themes other than mentioned above, but still related to Flora Malesiana or Nature-based Climate Solution can submit their abstract under the “Other” category in their personal dashboard after login. 

Abstract Submission Guideline

  • Abstracts must be written in English or Indonesian (maximum 300 words) in Word file format (.docx or .doc) or PDF. Maximum file size is 10Mb.
  • Include Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), and corresponding email address on top of your abstract.
  • Indicate the conference theme that best aligns with your abstract.
  • All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the scientific committee.
  • Selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentations or poster sessions via email.
  • File naming format: Abstract Title_Author’s name. (i.e: Advancing Scientific Research for Sustainable Development_Budi Iriawan.docx)
  • Each participant can upload up to 3 abstracts, one theme per abstract.
